A Timeless Victorian Home in the Scottish Borders
A thoughtful redesign of a Victorian home in the Scottish Borders. This project involved a kitchen and layout transformation, creating a new dining and sitting room arrangement — along with a calm, light-filled bedroom
— all rooted in comfort, character, and timeless style.
Set in the Scottish Borders, this beautiful Victorian home is full of original period charm and detail. They loved their home, but the layout in some areas needed adjusting, particularly in the kitchen and living spaces, which felt slightly separate from one another.
Reimagining the Layout
I worked with them to reconfigure the layout, combining the original sitting room and dining room. A bespoke larder cupboard was also designed for practical, easy-access storage — a functional yet elegant addition that makes the kitchen feel more lived-in and welcoming.
Bedroom Design
As part of the project, I also helped create a tranquil, light-filled bedroom with soft textures and thoughtful details that support rest and relaxation.
Final Result
Throughout the home, we embraced colour, pattern, and natural materials to create a timeless, layered atmosphere — one that celebrates the character of the house while reflecting the personality and lifestyle of the people who live in i
